Nea Kudi Marshall was raised in a country where there are federal laws against homosexuality, and drag is virtually unheard of. He faced a number of challenges for growing up "different" in Cameroon. Yet long before he even set out on his path to becoming BeBe, Nea discovered that he could build strength out of that adversity, channelling the negativity of others into positive energy and focus. His story contains complex yet empowering messages of self-acceptance, family values, and the importance of staying true to one's individuality - messages which have the potential to resonate with people of a variety of ages, backgrounds, and sexual orientations. We want to make sure that Nea's story reaches as many of the communities that it could benefit as possible. If you are affiliated with or know of any organizations that may be able to use our film to further their goals (in re: human rights, diversity, tolerance, GLBTQ issues, gender equality, the arts, immigration, etc), please let us know! As we're in the process of finishing the film, we'd love to hear your thoughts as to what might make it the most engaging tool possible to inspire openmindedness and change. Please email emily[AT]workandserve[DOT]com directly regarding outreach partnerships and audience engagement suggestions. Thanks!
